Prince Harry may feel compelled to support his family, especially after King Charles and Princess Kate were both afflicted with cancer this year.
“On one explosive night after Charles and Kate had both announced their cancer diagnoses, Harry reached his breaking point. He’s been really worried and made a desperate plea to Charles. He wants to reconcile with the family and pitch in to help at this time of need. He’s told them he’s coming home,” an insider told OK! Magazine.
Prince Harry, 39, is planning to visit the United Kingdom in May to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, but it appears that he will be traveling alone.
“These are good excuses for him to be there and also work in some quality time with his family,” the source stated, adding that his wife, Meghan Markle, 42, “is still refusing to set foot in the U.K. again after everything that’s happened with Harry’s family. It’s emotional for her to think that he’s willing to walk out of the home they’ve made together to go back to be with those people, and she’s definitely vowed to keep the kids in California.”
Since Meghan and Harry relocated to California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet, they have had little contact with the prince's family. After the two debuted their Netflix show, “Harry & Meghan,” and Harry's book, “Spare,” tensions between him and his family became heated.
In order to get Meghan back to England, she is said to be demanding an apology from the royals. "Harry would like a reconciliation but supports his wife completely and until she feels that the royal family have been sufficiently nice to her — and grovelingly apologized for the past — it's not going to happen," royal insider Tom Quinn told The Mirror.
"There has been a shift here since Kate's illness Harry and Meghan do feel they need to extend an olive branch, but Meghan's sense of grievance is still preventing anything really meaningful happening,” he added.
Meanwhile, it seems like Prince Harry is itching to be his with father, King Charles, and sister-in-law, Princess Kate, during this time. "Harry would love for Archie and Lilibet to have a better relationship with their cousins or even the children of some of his friends,” another source told The Daily Express.
"He feels like they have been away from the U.K. for far too long and wants to start building a life here. Not full-time, but a second home they can visit regularly," they added.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan have received an urgent warning regarding their upcoming Netflix show. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are launching two new series on the streaming giant, after the publication of three documentaries as part of their £100 million pact.
One series would focus on "the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship," and the other will provide "unprecedented access to the world of professional polo."
Michael Cole, a former BBC royal correspondent, stated that Prince Harry and Meghan must now "sing for their supper.”
“Netflix is a hard-headed company, they don’t throw money away. They want products, they want new things. And part of the new things, shows which are called ‘unscripted’ are shows that the Duke and Duchess will be doing,” he told Times Radio.
“Now I don’t think that in the southern districts of Los Angeles, they play much polo. They play perhaps basketball. Polo is one of the most expensive and exclusive sports in the world, maybe apart from sailing. You need at least two ponies, preferably four,” Michael added, in a warning to the Montecito based Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“Prince Harry would probably be a good tutor, he’s an excellent horseman, he plays very well. And polo is quite popular but it is exclusive. If the Sussexes are trying to be more inclusive, and bring more and more people in, regardless of ethnicity, race, religion and sexual predilections - then I think polo would probably be the last thing I would think of,” he furthered.
“The fact is they have to earn money, they need money. In the marketplace, their USP is their royal status but that can wear out if they aren’t doing things. They’re like sharks, they have to keep moving,” Michael concluded.
After stepping down from prominent royal duties, Prince Harry aand Meghan inked a five-year agreement with Netflix worth more than £100 million. Three documentaries have been released since then: “Harry & Meghan,” “Live To Lead,” and “Heart of Invictus.”
Archewell Productions will produce the two new television shows, with names and release dates to be announced in the coming months.
